Hello Friend;
Not sure if you noticed, but the regularity of this newsletter has changed since the new year. Between the ongoing pandemic, the ludicrousness of the news, working on some non-food projects… let’s just say I needed a minute. (True story, I had to google “What year is it?” last night.)
My hope is to be back to once a month by May. And I hope you miss me. Because I miss writing this for you.
So… what better day to reach out those you miss than Valentine’s Day. Of all the Hallmark Holidays, this one is my favourite. Mostly because I love Love. I’m a big believer of telling people you love them, showing people you love them, being nice to strangers to facilitate a more loving world.
My love language is yelling.
So this V-day, I encourage you to eschew the traditional romantic love falderal (though, if you’re in romantic love…even if you’re not… Get Yours, Babe!") and open your heart to those who might need a little extra.
I made these Valentine Cards for you to share.
And while you’re in the midst of this love-fest, don’t forget to show yourself some of the good stuff. Because a car can’t run on an empty tank.
Here are some things you can do for yourself:
Unsubscribe from all promotional emails. When one comes in, SMASH THAT UNSUBSCRIBE BUTTON! It feels good!
Get a jump on your taxes. It’s winter, you’re bored… sit in front of the tv, separate those receipts, put all your T4s in one place. Springtime You will be grateful!
Take a sexy selfie… even if you don’t show it to anyone, just remind yourself that you are a STUD!!
Sleep nude! Studies show you sleep better, it enhances your body image, and sometimes you have to let your downstairs stuff breathe! I highly recommend.
Do a very easy crossword puzzle to feel excellent and smart.
Look at a picture of the Ikea Monkey and think about his little coat.
When in doubt… Ice Cream.
I hope you are all taking good care of yourself and staying warm and safe.
Thanks Jan, another great one! xxo
Never thought that doing my taxes was an act of self-love. But now it shall be! Along with airing out my downstairs bits.
